Open a panel's target page or template (Legacy)

This feature applies to legacy Template Panels and page-panel components. For new HMIs, use Custom Components instead, which provide a more flexible and maintainable way to create reusable component assemblies with placeholders. To edit a Custom Component, right-click any instance and choose Edit Component — see Editing a library component for details.

Open a panel’s target page or template

HMI screens often nest other pages and templates through the Template Panel and page-panel components. While building a screen, the HMI editor lets you jump straight to the page or template a panel references, instead of locating it manually in the project tree.

Jump to the target

1. In the HMI editor, locate a template-panel or page-panel component on the page.
2. Double-click the panel component on the canvas.
3. The editor opens the referenced page or template in a new editor tab.
4. The corresponding node is also selected in the project tree, so you can see where the target sits in the page structure.

Note

The target page or template is the one configured on the panel component (for the template panel this is the Target Template property). If no target is assigned, double-clicking the panel does nothing.
