Edge Connect Register
Claim and connect a new edge device to your organization using the on-device setup UI (edge-connect-ui) and a connection token issued from the cloud portal.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Prerequisites: A new edge device reachable on the network and running the edge-connect setup UI; portal access to create a device and copy its token.
- Required role/permission: Device-management rights in the cloud portal to create the device and obtain its token.
- Settings that affect behavior:
- Connection token — the token bound to the device record authorizes the claim; it is copied from the device’s details in the portal.
- Active organization — the device is registered into the currently selected organization.
- Network / outbound proxy — the device must be able to reach the cloud; an outbound proxy may be required (see Edge outbound proxy).
- Licensing — running a vPLC on the device afterwards needs a license bound to the device (see License status on edge device).
- In the portal, open Devices (
/portal/devices) and create a device entry (see Devices overview). - Open the device’s details and copy its connection token.
- On the device, open the edge-connect-ui setup page.
- Paste the token to claim/connect the device to your organization.
- Back in the portal, confirm the device shows as connected/online.
